An Important Family Update

Dear family, friends, and ministry partners:

I have a bittersweet announcement. After 10 years serving in Thailand, we have felt God leading us back to the U.S. so I can pastor a church there. At the end of 2025, we began praying again about God's direction for our family. Ultimately, we felt like God was telling us it was time to move back to the U.S. to take a pastoral role in an established local church, and to build a sense of stability for our family after so many years without it. So I began an 8-month process of applying and interviewing with churches all around the country. By May of this year, 3 churches were interested in my candidacy. It was a difficult choice, but we believe God has led us to the church and location he wants us, a local church in Giles County, TN, which is just north of Huntsville, AL and about an hour south of the outskirts of Nashville. (I'm affectionately calling it "Tennabama" because we'll be 10 minutes from the state border.)

For those of you who are financial partners, I will be in contact with each of you individually in the coming weeks to to talk through your monthly recurring donations. I wanted to contact everyone before this announcement, but there was just no way I could do that in time for our move in July, and I wanted to make this information public to our whole network before we left Thailand.

As we think about how to continue ministry to Thailand, this is our plan:

1. Translate my weekly sermons into a solo podcast for Thai speakers in Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar (plus short-form videos for broader reach) so people here in Southeast Asia can be edified, or hear the gospel for the first time.

2. Take an annual family trip back to Thailand to join evangelistic outreaches and encourage our partners on the ground.

3. Financially support evangelistic ministries in at least three regions of Thailand.

4. Build relationships with Thai and Laotian communities in Huntsville and Nashville, and potentially host an exchange student in Tennessee.

5. Translate and post Thai-language worship music online to resource and bless the Thai church.

We are filled with a sense of tempered excitement as we go back, knowing that we'll miss our "people" here in Thailand, and that there will be some big adjustments that need to be made, especially for the kids. However, we have already been impressed with the hospitality and warmth of the church members we are going to serve with. They have a parsonage prepared for us to move into and several of them are already helping us find furniture and appliances, which was totally voluntary on their part. I'm excited & honored to get to teach the Bible weekly, help shape the next chapter of a local church, and invest in the lives of hundreds of people in a growing area between Nashville and Huntsville, two culture-shaping cities in our world today.
