Praise God for New Life!

Two years ago, I posted in a prayer group asking for prayer for Noon. Noon is a girl (17) that we have gotten really close to over the last 2 years. When we first moved here, she was a 15-year-old girl who had just become the first Christian in her entire family. Since that time, we have been praying for her faith to grow and for God to use her as a bridge to bring Christ to her family. A few months ago, I also posted and asked for prayer for her sister, Neen. I posted that we had dinner with her and her daughter, and that Neen seemed to be opening up to us. In fact, over the last two years, Neen has slowly opened up a lot more as we have simply showed an interest in her life and in her daughter's, as well as seeing how we love her sister like she is our family.

Tonight, Noon invited her to go to a concert with us that another church in our city was hosting. The band is from Bangkok, and they are both very talented, as well as very passionate young Thai adults who love Jesus. At the concert tonight, there was a short evangelistic appeal by the pastor of the church, and an invitation for those who wanted to receive new life in Christ to come to the front for members of the band to pray with and for them. Neen was sitting on the end of the pew, and before I realized it, I noticed that she had slipped up to the front. Liz and I looked at each other with tears streaming down our faces as we both realized what had just happened.

After we got back from the concert, I asked my friend Ball to sit down and talk with her about the decision she made and wanted to make sure she understood what it means. She is VERY shy, so I didn't push her to talk since there were still a lot of people around at the church office, but Ball did share with her about when he became a believer and talked to her about her next steps. I don't know what the next few months have in store or if she even really understands what is going on, but I know how much bravery it took for her to walk up to the front and say that she wanted to receive new life in Christ, and I am optimistic enough to really believe that on May 11, 2018, God finally broke through her barriers and gave her new life in him. I showed her my daily prayer list and how I have her and Nambpan on it. I am astounded at what God is doing here, and I feel so unworthy to be a part of it. Praise be to his name!
